High volume valve Forge Motorsport FMDV7 for Audi RS3 8V TTRS 8S

This dump valve kit is an evolution of the FMARSDV kit Forge distributes for RS3s on 8P chassis. It has been developed for those who have or will modify their TTRS 86 or RS3 8V with over 450 hp. Audi thought small when it didn’t change the design of the standard dump valve on the previous RS3, so they experienced the same problems on 8V chassis, in this case cars over 450hp were displaying error codes intermittently, signalling a malfunction of the standard dump valve. Standard dump valves are designed for standard turbo pressures, and above 450 hp the dump valve is unable to move the required volume of air, so the ECU would read too much turbo pressure between gear changes and deduce that the dump valve wasn’t working properly. Forge looked into the problem, and realized that there would be no real solution, as the dump valve hole on the standard elbow was too small. So they decided that they would design and produce a new elbow hose, which would allow a larger dump valve to be fitted. They also improved the elbow’s internal flow and removed restrictions inside the valve. The design of the elbow hose has been modified by Audi to accommodate different throttle valves, so Forge’s design has also changed. The engine light is based on the intake pressure sensor and not on the air flow meter, unlike most Audi engines, and Forge has also included the option of running it in closed or open circuit.
